Jar Thuraya is an inclusive community of women from Lebanon that specialize in handcrafted gourmet delicacies made with local raw materials inspired by traditional “Mouneh”.
Lebanese women from the North, Bekaa, South, and Mount Lebanon partake in food production activities throughout the year. The products are cooked using traditional preparation and preservation methods, on a seasonal basis since crop availability is affected by harvests, weather, and labor force. Each woman experiments with new flavors, using locally sourced ingredients and labels the jars with information regarding the product, her name, origin, and serving suggestions. The packaging consists of 100% plastic-free material that is recyclable and eco-friendly. The women use their expertise in food production to support themselves and their families financially. This community has encouraged more people to contribute to the movement by welcoming younger chefs who add a youthful spirit to traditional “Mouneh” production and consumption.
Fusion recipes are crafted using 100% natural products preserved in glass jars and have a shelf life of over two years.
A handcrafted gourmet experience is offered for those experimenting with new flavors, ethical consumer behavior, sustainable visions, and environmental awareness.
